Social Media Platforms.. and Beyond

There is an inevitability when attracting customers to businesses. It is no longer in one's best interest to send out snail mail, or to promote via printed advertisements. The best way to attract people now is social media. People are spending more time than ever before on their phones and on social media accounts in order to connect with others, share their lives, and to find new activities to participate in. Through social media, businesses have real potential to reach their customers in an easy and fun way, interacting and sharing their way to attract consumers in a virtually free and inviting way.

Social media types which best attract customers:

Facebook: Many people of all generations are now on facebook. Facebook has a great layout for businesses to set up their information on locations, hours, and to provide up to date information on special events, even the ability to create separate event pages.

Instagram: Instagram is popular among a slightly younger crowd, but features pictures to display messages with short captions. This platform relies on presentation, picture quality, and hashtags to connect the product to news feeds.

Twitter: Twitter has a word limit and relies more on quick messages to promote messages timely and efficiently. Pictures are less common on twitter.

Pinterest: Pinterest is a website which allows users to "Pin" ideas, pictures, and websites which interest them. It allows the user to click on the pin to take them to a separate link outside of the pinterest website.

Snapchat: Snapchat is the increasingly popular home of the quick picture and it's gone feature. Businesses can use this to showcase glimpses of products. This is used more so by a younger crowd, but if the "snap ID" is present, it is easy to follow the updates on this platform.
